depending on the urgency the local police might help, if it is not that serious you could try to contact someone very close by and ask them to pass a message to them
There's no way - that's what ex-directory is for. In a real emergency, such as someone being taken very seriously ill, the police would pop around and deliver a quick message for them to contact you, but not otherwise. Is there anyway to discover an x directory telephone number without doing the obvious things like - ask for it
STALKER?Is there anyway to discover an x directory telephone number without doing the obvious things like - ask for it
Hello,
(ANS) In the UK it is NOT possible to run whats called "reverse look up's" this is due to the laws we have on privacy and data protection in this country. Meaning that you cannot find a persons phone number from their postcode or postal address even if you have those details. Or vica verse address from phone number.
**NOTE: Ex - directory means what it says on the tin, by definition the person has chosen to hide or not reveal their phone number to the general public often for professional reasons such as for example many psychotherapists are ex directory as they don't want to be called out of hours by their patients.
**In the USA the data protection laws %26amp; laws on privacy are completely different, I believe you can in some states run reverse look up's and find a persons location from a phone number.
**here in the UK the only people who are legally allowed to run reverse look up's are the police, MI5, HMS customs and excise, inland revenue and finally the DHSS (mostly for cases concerning financial fraud or investigations into child porn or people trafficking etc.)
Sorry! if this doesn't help directly but may offer some clarity?
Kind Regards Ivan
Nope, thats why we have the option to be ex-directory.
If it truly is a matter of urgency, you can contact the police in their area and give them the address along with details of the emergency and they will visit for you.
