Where are the places you can find and pickup a paper phonebook/telephone directory?

i would like to pick one up in a store, not order from the phone company and wait (as when you're in a new area and need a phonebook asap, besides motel or payphone)...but it seems hit and miss. used to go to grocery stores, but not finding them there lately. any suggestions? i've tried to search this through search engine but not finding anything so far. thank youWhere are the places you can find and pickup a paper phonebook/telephone directory?
If you really can't wait. Try some local apartment buildings. When they give out the new books, they pile dozens of them in the lobby area, usually near the mailroom. So if people want them, they can take them. They usually sit and collect dust for months, till they all go. Otherwise call the phone company. Good Luck!
